Who is it for?
Pack-Age is for you, who are interested in learning packaging design in a fun way as a part of multidisciplinary team working with a real design challenge. Pack-Age prepares students for a project-based working and cooperation of different fields. The learning content consists of theme lectures and workshops as well as independent and supervised group work. Also excursions are part of the program. Pack-Age is organised by the Aalto ARTS Master’s Degree Programme in Visual Communication Design, but teachers collaborate from many different schools and programs. Our teaching themes include:
You will learn how to design, communicate, evaluate, test and justify your solutions. You will learn to understands packaging from many different perspectives and also learn good project work practices and how to communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders.
The minor is organised as one long 15 ECTS project course. Apply with a motivation letter. Please include following information:
Send your motivation letter to firstname.lastname@example.org by 31 October. The preferred length is max 2 pages A4, but you may attach work samples as as separate attachments to the application if you wish.
Based on motivation letters, the teachers will select and form the project groups before the course begins.
We will be working with 4 different projects in 2017 in teams of 5-6 persons. Teaching and project work takes place from January to end of May, mainly at Aalto Design Factory in Otaniemi.
