Markus Joutsela
Director, Pack-Age / Packaging Interaction and Experience
Markus is the founder of Pack-Age, and he has previously worked with packaging from a designer’s, a teacher’s, and a design researcher’s point of view. Pack-Age started as his personal project, where he imagined what kind of design course would have excited him the most during his studies, if it had existed. It would bring together all the most relevant perspectives, and resources into an experimental setting connected with real packaging design challenges. Pack-Age became a platform for experimenting and he invited specialists, teachers, students and companies to take part in that experience. Now, Pack-Age has grown into a full-blown Minor attracting top talent from many backgrounds. The same ethos still prevails as it brings together the best practices and resources to provide students with an interesting but steep learning experience in the multidisciplinary world of packaging design.
